Understand the planning and control of the flow of materials into and out of your organization and prepare for the APICS basics of supply chain management exam module.Designed for those who need a better understanding of the manufacturing supply chain and those preparing for the APICS exam module. This course is a recommended prerequisite to the other four courses designed around the CPIM exam modules because it introduces essential concepts which will be covered more extensively in those courses.
Topics include:
elements of the supply chain; operating environments; financial fundamentals; manufacturing resource planning (MRP II); just-in-time (JIT); total quality management (TQM); the relationships among MRP II, JIT and TQM; demand management driven by marketplace and customer expectations; design and planning; execution and control; performance measurements; purchasing and the physical distribution system.
