APICS Michiana Presents - Scheduling The Shop Floor, aka Dancing in the Dark
|
Date: Tuesday, March 11, 2003
Barry E. Blood, CPIM
|
| This presentation will deal with the now popular (and sometimes controversial) subject of Infinite vs. Finite scheduling.
*What are the limitations of each method ??
*What are the ramifications of each method on the various parts of the organization ?? Marketing ? Purchasing ? Production ? Customer Service ?
*Who REALLY has the last word on the effectiveness of the schedule ?? Finally, the speaker will discuss the underlying problem (which in most cases is not scheduling at all)!! The presentation will address the Real Issues of scheduling the shop, not the Theoretical Issues. Some audience involvement is required!
