APICS Michiana Presents -
The New Economy and Supply Chain Management
Date: Tuesday, March 08, 2005
Joint Meeting with ISM

Dr. Sime Curkovic
The U.S. has transformed itself into the most competitive economy in the world. The U.S. has averaged over 4% annual growth for over a decade. Unemployment has been as low as 4% and there have been no signs of inflation. Policy makers in Europe and Asia have labeled it the "goldilocks" economy to imply it is too good to be true or cannot be long-lasting. However, the U.S. simply acknowledges it has created a new set of standards and refers to it as the New Economy.

This New Economy was not built on smoke and mirrors though. Rather, it reflects the ingenuity of American management and specifically Supply Chain Management. This presentation will explore the relationship between the New Economy and Supply Chain Management.
