This presentation will be about leading a Lean implementation process to achieve and sustain manufacturing improvements. An entire organization does not become Lean as a result of one project or initiative. It is a goal which delivers continuously improving operational performance implemented by inroads into waste elimination for specific organization process areas. A Lean Manufacturing organization's focus utilizes cross-functional teams to achieve and sustain gains in safety, quality, customer service, productivity, and profitability.

  • David S Coen is a Lean Facilitator at CTB, Inc a $350 million agricultural business in Milford IN. Dave joined CTB from Semo, an Engineering & Consulting Company specializing in Lean Manufacturing implementation & process improvement. His clients while at Semo included CTB, Inc., Newell-Rubbermaid, Mid Continent Nail, Technical Plastics Corporation.

    Dave was also the President of Coen Energy, an oil production company specializing in secondary recovery oil operations. He has also held the positions of Plant Manager of a $70MM Manufacturing facility with $30MM Distribution Center, Production Manager of a $50MM Business Unit and was an Engineering Manager of a $100MM facility - all with Gates Rubber Company.

    Since 2003, some of the teams Dave has led on Lean campaign initiatives have delivered -
