APICS Michiana Presents -
Are You The Weakest/Smallest Link In The Supply Chain?
Date: Tuesday, September 11, 2007
Joint Meeting with ISM

Dale Billet, CPIM, CIRM, CSCP
Supply Chain efficiency and effectiveness have continued to get much publicity and emphasis. With an increasing global marketplace, the focus on supply chains will continue to rise. However, most of the published information on supply chains has been on large firms such as Walmart, Home Depot, Toyota and other large companies. Many of the new concepts and technology that have been implemented by large companies cannot be successfully applied to mid-sized companies in the same manner.

This presentation will discuss the supply chain findings in the 2007 RSM McGladrey Manufacturing and Wholesale Distribution Survey along with risks and opportunities for mid-sized companies. Real work examples of the approach mid-sized manufacturers collaborating within the supply chain will be presented.

Following this presentation, participants will be able to:

  • Identify the current state of mid-sized companies in their Supply Chain based upon the 2006 RSM McGladrey Manufacturing and Wholesale Distribution National survey
