Date: Tuesday, November 11, 2008
Dale Billet CPIM, CIRM, CSCP
Inventory is a very difficult area to manage for most companies. In fact, most companies are purchasing, producing and warehousing too much inventory. These high inventory levels mask other problems and can delay improvements in operations. Typically, the multiple causes for poor inventory management are not well understood and the lines of responsibility for inventory management are blurred.
This presentation will answer the following questions:Why should you focus on inventory and who is responsible? What is the impact, symptoms and causes of high inventory? What inventory performance measurements should you be using? What are the best practices in controlling inventory? and finally - What action plan should you implement to improve inventory?
