With the many challenges facing businesses today, it is essential for organizations to have effective leaders at all levels. They say that some people are born leaders, but the necessary traits and abilities of effective leadership can be learned and developed. Understanding the core competencies of a successful leader is where to start. Whether you are already a leader and want to be more effective or wish to become a leader; knowing, developing and improving these abilities is the key. This presentation will focus on identifying and understanding the essential core leadership competencies and strategies for developing them.

Ann Meskauskas is an associate of Peak Enterprise Solutions. Ann owns and manages AHM & Associates, a consulting firm specializing in interpersonal skills training. For the last 13 years, she has been helping companies improve their operations by providing training in Team Building, Project Management, Supervisory Skills, Change Management, Effective Communications, Customer Service, and Time Management.
Prior to this, she had over 20 years experience in management and planning for a multi-national Fortune 500 consumer goods manufacturing company. While there, she held positions at the corporate level in Engineering, Manufacturing, and Information Services supporting all areas of the company.
Ann has a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering from the Illinois Institute of Technology and an MBA from the University of Chicago with a concentration in Operations Research. She also completed the Executive Development Program at the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania.
