Dr. Dean M Schroeder  is a distinguished academic, author, and consultant. He is an experienced leader of organizational transformations, having started up two companies and, as an outside CEO, led the turnaround of two others. His international consulting clients include Siemens, Unilever, Fifth Third Bank, Hayworth, Girl Scouts of America, Medtronics, Cummins Engine, Toyota, Panafon (the European wireless communications company), Dresser Industries, Nippon Telegraph and Telephone (NTT), and Halliburton.

He recently completed his fifth year on the Board of Examiners of the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award, is on the Board of Directors of the American Creativity Association, and has served on several corporate boards.

Dr. Schroeder has authored more than sixty articles and papers, for which he has received a number of national awards. Dr Schroeder currently serves as the Herbert and Agnes Schulz Professor of Management and the Director of the M.B.A. Program at Valparaiso University in Valparaiso, Indiana. He received his Ph.D. from the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota, his M.B.A. from the University of Montana, and his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the Institute of Technology at the University of Minnesota. He has also taught at the St. Petersburg Technical University in Russia and the Athens Laboratory of Business Administration (affiliated with INSEAD) in Greece.
